I know its still Summer as the equinox isn't until the 22nd September but gosh the nights are drawing in so fast and everywhere you look signals Autumn.
So that was my inspiration for todays card...
I inked up Altenew Leaf Canopy for this card using Ink on 3 so I could do a no-line colouring trying to capture the changing colours of Autumn.
I used an array of Prisma pencils on this card and it took soooo long I had to finish it later in the day.
It probably would have been quicker with watercolours, maybe next time!
The sentiment is a very old wooden Penny Black stamp and while I love the mix of fonts, I hate the fact it was stuck on the wood wonky and yes I've pulled it off and reattached but it seems to slink back into its original wonky position so yes its a little... erm, wonky.
And no I cannot remove it from the wood forever... that my friends is a craft crime. There is something rather nostalgic about the old wood mounted stamps and the hold ya breath and hope it stamps right, which in my case it didn't but it adds what mass manufactured cards cannot... wonky charm :)

Beautiful fall foliage! Thanks for playing along with us on the CASology Challenge blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous card Claire, your leaves are coloured beautifully, like the font on the sentiment too, it's position has character :) (Must admit I take stamps off the block when I can and I do keep the leftover blocks! Cathy x
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely CAS design and wonderful flow to the card. The use of the 3 colours work so well...shows us the changing colours of Autumn. And I didn't notice the wonky sentiment...shhhh about these little hiccups as we never notice them! Thanks for joining Time Out x
ReplyDeleteoops forgot to say-thanks for joining CASology!
ReplyDeleteThere is everything perfect on this card. From the designm to no-line stamping, perfect coloring of the leaves and fabulous sentiment. I can not achieve such a perfect "print" with a silicon stamp. So I don't even think about to use old wooden stamps. :-)
