City Scape Happy Birthday

A stencilled card today, no colouring...



All week I've been wondering how to do a pastel rainbow card without using the rainbow shape and finally settled on this city scape stencil from Altenew.




I've used Distress Oxides for all the colours starting with hickory smoke for the top half.

Flipped the stencil and used lots of colours starting with spun sugar, carved pumpkin, squeezed lemonade, bundled sage, tumbled glass, shaded lilac and dusty concord.




Excuse the reflection from the window, I needed the sun to catch the sparkle on the rainbow colours.  To finish I added some detail to the buildings and an MFT sentiment.

  4. This is one of the most clever and creative use of rainbow colors I've ever seen! I love the reflection of the city-scape done in colors, I never would have imagined trying that, but it works beautifully! It's just dreamy!

  17. Well, I think you nailed it with thinking up a different rainbow design. This is so cool and modern. I love how you used the grey on top, really makes the colour pop. And keeping it CAS really makes the rainbow the star of the card. Gorgeous design, always wonderful to see you at TIME OUT!
