Happy Father's Day

Featuring the utterly adorable Newton from Newtons Book Club.  This is for my step-dad and it just had to be this stamp set because... a) he loves cats and b) he devours books at a frightening speed, on the plus side I rarely buy books but my book shelves are starting to groan a little!

I used the sketch from Inky Paws and started by colouring Newton in a nice ginger colour with stripes then fussy cut him out.  I wanted to use text from a book and I happen to have a book called The No. 2 Cat Detective Agency and in the back is a preview of the next book so I was a bit brutal and ripped out one of the preview pages making sure I had the word cat/kittens and Much Purring on show.

I used Lawn Fawn sentiments and BoBunny Urban stamps to create the ink splodges.

I just couldn't resist adding some Glossy Accents to his glasses for a fun touch.

I'm going to pop along to The Library challenge, the theme this time is Breakfast at Tiffany's.  Holly has a cat whose nameless as she doesn't think anyone has the right to own him and he's ginger so Newton is being typecast as Cat the Nameless Cat for this purpose.  Also, Paul Varjak is a writer so this card fits the brief pretty well.  Stopping by for a few other challenges too that have our 'man cubs' as themes ;)
