I'm Guest Designing with the ladies over at Day of the Month Card Club this month with a fabulous new challenge.
I've used an MFT background poppy rubber stamp, stamped in Versamark and embossed in Cosmic Shimmer gold.
The poppies on this stamp set are Oriental so to offset the wrong type of poppies I watercoloured them true to their natural beauty of rich orange.
To finish the card I embossed a sentiment from Colorado Craft Company onto black cardstock for drama.

ReplyDeleteA beautiful card Claire. I like how you have highlighted with colouring just some of the poppies. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning creation this is with those vivid orange poppies outlined in gold! I just love how the gold on the sentiment beautifully coordinates with those embossed flowers! Congrats on your GD spot, it's well deserved and well done too! Thanks for all your kind words - I have to get through the services tomorrow and hopefully then I will be able to move on and let go of all this heavy-duty sadness. My new motto is "just breathe"
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Claire, leaving some of the poppies uncoloured is so effective. xx
ReplyDeletePoppies are one of my favorite flowers! I really love how you spread them on the card and especially that you only colored two of them! The vibrant orange and gold sentiment really catches the eye! Thank you so much for being our guest designer at DotMCC this month! Rosi xx
ReplyDeleteWow, this is gorgeous, Claire! Love the shimmer and the spotlighting of the two poppies
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and a wonderful way to show off those poppies with just a couple of them colored! Thank you for sharing this at Seize the Birthday!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous card Claire, love that you only coloured two of the poppies, really makes an impact, love the gold embossing too, and thankyou for playing along at Seize the Birthday, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteYou've come to the right place with the color of Californian poppy seeds. I love how you add color to only part of the image, it makes the card even more eye-catching.
