Happy Freezin' Season

Aww its my last week guest designing for Krafty Chicks so I'd like to thank the ladies especially Lori for letting me play along, bless you x

So onto this weeks All Occasions and I'm guilty of doing another Christmas card because I'm totally behind, hmm nothing new there then... you all know that feeling, right?

I've used Fuzzy Hugs from Mama Elephant and chose the loved up penguins... clearly a harmonious moment.

As always they've been coloured using my Prisma pencils in freezin' colours.

Now I really don't like doing scenes, truthfully... I suck at it but I wanted the penguins to have a background so I made my own igloo.

I started by die cutting a circle to use as a template and masked off a portion horizontally, then blended Distress Oxide in tumbled glass.

At this point it looked, hmm, well just down right ugly so I set to with my pencils hand drawing the blocks of ice and cracks.

Once I was happy with the igloo I stopped and arranged the sparkly embossed 'hugs' in front to see if it looked right.

So it did and it didn't, I think its a bit rotund but after all my preening I've decided its got double glazing ice.  The sentiment is from MFT and adds to the chilly feel :)

Don't forget to hop by the Krafty Chicks and link up any occasion card, have fun playing.

  5. Stunning card! I'm amazed of iglu. Just great. And penguins are fantastic colored. I thing that there is never to much glitter on the Christmas cards. :-) I know the feeling of being behind with Christmas cards. The same story every year. :-)

  8. Your GD creations are fantastic, and I love these little cuties with the heart between them! Genius work creating the igloo with your own hand by the way - it's the perfect background! That icy looking sentiment is just perfect and in spite of all the work you put into this, it's still perfectly CAS! I love it!

  13. Wow, Claire! The finished card is so CAS but the road to the finished product was anything but simple. I love the background igloo and the way you've created it using that circle template. If, indeed, it was downright ugly, you've worked your magic to make it perfect. Love those penguins and, of course, the glittery sentiment. Your card goes a long way to making our freezing weather bearable. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
