I kept my cards simple as making one in a day is a massive challenge for me let alone two and my first is a Halloween card and is pretty self-explanatory. I used a Tim Holtz die and embossing folder, it doesn't show but the cobweb is all sparkly and we all know how difficult that is to photograph (imagination required). The sentiment is from Sugar Pea Designs.
OK my second took a little longer than the first and I decided on a shaker card. It was pretty hard to find a way of not making the cat look Halloweenified in card number two so I went with a love theme and I think it works. I did contemplate cutting his legs off and have him sitting on a wall but that idea got binned pretty darn quick when I couldn't make him or the wall behave in a way I was happy with.
Now please don't be fooled by this angelic looking cat... this is Loki whose a rescue cat and he's three years old and I can promise you, he's the devil himself in a fur coat. When he's good (rarely) he's gorgeous and when he's bad (daily) - he's horrid :)

Great cards, Claire! Can't believe that sweet little kitty is ever naughty! Jo x
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea to make a Halloween card! These are both great. I'm working on my entry for this challenge too. (it's not as imaginative as yours)
ReplyDeleteI love your cards, especially the shaker one. Elegant with no need to add more to it. Such a nice anniversary or valentines card and Loki looks like sweet one. I love black cats (but I'm allergic :( and our second dog is not a big fan of them)

Your lovely and scarry combinations is amazing :). But the black beauty of the cat is a winner of this post :)
ReplyDeleteIf you'll pardon the pun, these cards are "purr-fect" for our April Twofer Challenge! Such a great idea to make a Halloween card, and I love how CAS you've kept it. The spiderweb makes a wonderful background for your pointy-hat cat. Love your shaker card, too. Not one hint of Halloween-ness to be found; just sparkly shaker goodness. Really fun cards, Claire! Thank you for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! : ) Bev
ReplyDeleteI just love your cat cards and how unique each one is! Love that wicked spider web embossing on the first, and dual kitties with all those hearts just spells love in a big way on the 2nd. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I applaud your sisterhood with me when it comes to making up words and Halloweenified is a TERRIFIC one, lol! I'm glad you stuck to it, Claire, because you managed two outstanding designs with this Loki look-alike cat! The schparkly Halloween card is perfection and your heart shaker knocked my socks off! What a cool way to do a shaker! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #4 and sharing your real live devilish pet!! Hugs, Darnell
