Have I Told You Lately...

This is a bit of a play on words card (for CASology) and I don't mind admitting it was a nightmare to get it right, in fact my husband had a hand in the sentiment as he's a music nut and came to my rescue with a Van Morrison/Rod Stewart song.

The sentiment is computer generated with an obvious correction of the word 'you' and printed in light grey.  I then hand drew the heart on a folded piece of copier paper and positioned it central, then placed the sheep stamp in the middle and removed the stencil.  Stamped and coloured the image using Inktense pencils and created a mask to pop back on.  I then placed the stencil back in place and blended pink ink very minimal, but stronger round the edges for definition.  Then I added white, red and black paint splatters with the addition of three musical notes.

To make the card look like its been matted, I added a grey border with a Sharpie pen and considered it finished

  1. Brilliant card, Claire, very clever design. The grey border is a really effect way of giving the impression that the card is matted. xx

  2. Adorably cute little sheep and I love your sentiment ... your hubby deserves a gold star for that contribution and great to know he supports your crafting. Superb masking of the heart and I certainly did a double take on the outline to the card. So effective with your sharpie pen - it really does look matted. Great idea on our theme and thanks for joining us at Less is More
