HoHoHo

I'm always very honoured to be a Guest Designer and I'm back at Day of the Month Card Club this December where the theme is Santa's List Day, how cool is that :)

I only have one Santa with a list so I reached for my MFT set and coloured him using my Prisma pencils.

I decided this time to cut him out on the line and oh my, not sure I'm doing that again... that pompom had several near death experiences!

Actually this card ended up in the bin, not just once but three times thanks to the tricky background I set myself up to do.

I die cut the sentiment three times from black cardstock and heat embossed the top one several times to get a nice gloss finish... Hmm, I over did it on the last Ho, so it was more a HoHoNo moment.

Now the text background, oh yes... You see I had a much bigger sentiment that reads..,

Even the NAUGHTY deserve something NICE

So you can imagine how much masking I had to do to achieve the above look which I think works but urgh time consuming, understatement...

I think I got the newspaper vibe I was aiming for so its all good :)

  6. I can only imagine how much time you spent putting this adorable card together, but trust me - it was well worth it! I'm glad it was rescued from the bin, because it's adorable! The placement of the background sentiments works perfectly with the fussy-cut Santa and his Ho Ho Ho! Your little scene is just wonderful and charming and I love it!

  8. You have fantastic designed this card. I like the script for the background. The idea to cut the motive by the line is great. I can understand that this was not an easy way. :-) Big black letters heat embossed make a great effect. And not to forget, Santa is perfect coloured.
