I'm always very honoured to be a Guest Designer and I'm back at Day of the Month Card Club this December where the theme is Santa's List Day, how cool is that :)

I only have one Santa with a list so I reached for my MFT set and coloured him using my Prisma pencils.

I decided this time to cut him out on the line and oh my, not sure I'm doing that again... that pompom had several near death experiences!

Actually this card ended up in the bin, not just once but three times thanks to the tricky background I set myself up to do.

I die cut the sentiment three times from black cardstock and heat embossed the top one several times to get a nice gloss finish... Hmm, I over did it on the last Ho, so it was more a HoHoNo moment.

Now the text background, oh yes... You see I had a much bigger sentiment that reads..,

Even the NAUGHTY deserve something NICE

So you can imagine how much masking I had to do to achieve the above look which I think works but urgh time consuming, understatement...

I think I got the newspaper vibe I was aiming for so its all good :)

Sharing some Christmas Linked Up Love 💕

  1. Loved reading your post Claire,it's great to know that others have mishaps too, love your background stamping die cut greeting and Father Christmas,a wonderful card

  2. Awesomw design Claire, the time was well spent getting the background look, it's great and I hadn't noticed that not all of the sentiment was shiny til you mentioned it lol! Gorgeous card, Cathy x

  3. Yes, once you've set out to do something, you definitely want to do it that way. Really great your card and Santa Claus is so cute !! Thank you for supporting us as a guest designer this month. Gundi

  4. Oh Claire your card is so beautiful, fantastic design and I love your perfect coloured Santa.

And congrats to the Guest Design.

  5. Thanks for being our guest designer! Love this card - the shiny black sentiment, the grey, subtle background and my favorite Santa! Could not be better! Hugs, Cornelia

  6. I can only imagine how much time you spent putting this adorable card together, but trust me - it was well worth it! I'm glad it was rescued from the bin, because it's adorable! The placement of the background sentiments works perfectly with the fussy-cut Santa and his Ho Ho Ho! Your little scene is just wonderful and charming and I love it!

  7. Well worth the effort Claire, it looks fantastic. Poor Santa and his pom pom though...doesn't bear thinking about!! xx

  8. You have fantastic designed this card. I like the script for the background. The idea to cut the motive by the line is great. I can understand that this was not an easy way. :-) Big black letters heat embossed make a great effect. And not to forget, Santa is perfect coloured.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Any comments left are always read with a happy smile and I will return the kindness by visiting your blog, take care x
