Actually this is number three but thanks to my husband and his idea, albeit a late idea I had to finish off the original number two and make this one. I was just about to stamp my sentiment horizontally on number two and he looked at me and said 'that would make a nice stem to a flower' BOOM - I had to run with it and you'll see what I mean when you see the card.
Now you see it, needless to say someone is feeling a little smug and I'm put out it didn't even cross my mind lol. I stamped the sentiment and the flower with Versamark and embossed it in white. I coloured the image with my Crayola Pro pencils and after trying it in pink, yellow and orange - I finally settled on blue. The butterfly is also coloured blue but because its tiny and after embossing it, it left little room for the colour to show through.
I stencilled white splodges around the flower, distressed the edges and a touch of Wink finished off this card.

Aren't you lucky to have a hubby with an eye for card design?! I love the sentiment used for a stem - it's perfect! It's quite a beautiful Mother's day card too!
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, Wow a beautiful card, maybe your dear hubby should have kept it to himself and snuck in to your craft room to make you the card for Mothers Day... the kraft paper looks great with the white embossing and the blue flower... Have a wonderful week... Megan

Your hubby is allowed to look smug, because the card looks gorgeous. Of course our colour choice and everything else helps as well.
