Hey, Hey look whose boarded the Christmas card train...
She reminds me of Marie from Aristocats and that was my starting point.
I stamped the cat first and masked her off, then masked off a panel slightly wider and blended blueprint sketch and tumbled glass Distress Oxides to create the night sky behind her.
I coloured the cat in light shades of grey and pink for the bow with Prisma pencils, adding a little sparkle to the bow.
The sentiment is from the same set and comes in two parts, I just put them together slightly overlapping the panel.
To finish off I added a few hand drawn twinkling stars to tie in with the fun font.

ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous Claire. Funny how images can stay in our collection for ages and then they get used and we can't believe we haven't used them before.
Love the image and your gorgeous background very much. Especially those added stars .. .. the perfect finishing touch.
Looking forward to future Christmas makes.
Hope you are having a good weekend.
Love Jules xx

So lovely!! And your background design is amazing!!
ReplyDelete"Everybody wants to be a cat..." This was one of my granddaughters favorite movies when she was little! She'd wait breathlessly standing right in front of the TV for the geese to say, "deepah." Thanks for resurrecting that memory of good days gone by! And she does look like Marie!! That was my first impression even before reading your post! This is a darling card, and she makes a great Christmas cat. Love that sentiment, too. What a delight, Claire. You should make multiples of this one! Love it! Bev
ReplyDeleteWhat a great use of that pris-, um, self-confident young female kitty cat! Your pink schparkly bow suits her and I love the sediment and your blended starry sky panel behind her! Great hand-drawn stars, too! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! I hope you are keeping well and being extra careful now that there is a surge. Hugs, Darnell

ReplyDeleteWay to jump onboard with the Christmas cards! I just love that background you created with the 2 shades of blue and the hand-drawn stars! It's purr-fect for this innocent looking kitty trying to persuade Santa she's been good :) We all know better of course, right? *wink wink* Cute Christmas card :)
