Firstly I masked and blended antique linen Distress Ink down the right-hand side then over stamped with a wood grain stamp using tea dye and vintage photo Distress Ink to create a background.
I stamped and masked a few prickly friends in pots (they come as separate stamps hence the masking) and coloured with my pencils. I never buy matching dies because of the cost if I think I can fussy cut them myself and these were easy enough to do even with spikes.
To finish off the card I used one of the fun sentiments from the set, embossed in white onto black cardstock. No idea who the card is for but these cacti just make you smile :)

Love your card Clair! The woodgrain panel makes for a great background for your adorable cacti! These little fellas would be too cute not to touch! Thanks for playing along at Seize the Birthday!
ReplyDeleteClair, you're a human die-cutting machine! I've never seen such precise fussy-cutting! This is such a fun and funny set of happy cacti and I love how you have potted them and placed them against that great woodgrain stamping! Keep well and thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute and fun birthday card and I just love how you created the wood panel! Your fussy cutting is spot on with all those cute cacti plants wearing smiles. Fun for anyone's birthday, and btw, yes please to the pina colada :)
ReplyDeleteI can't fussy cut like that! It's a talent in itself. I don't buy the dies because I have a Silhouette but it's a bit of a procedure. Anyway, I love this design - lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful CAS card - your woodgrain strip is masterful! Thank you for joining in with my challenge at Crafty Cardmakers this time.
