I stamped Santa and watercoloured him so his present matches the MME plaid paper and then fussy cut him out. The Christmas trees are die cut on plain white cardstock and then coloured using distress inks with some Stickles added to the branches. I die cut the scalloped border and used 3D foam to lift it from the paper. Stamped the sentiment, which are two separate designs, coloured some pearls with a red Sharpie, some glitter and a pompom on his hat to finish off.

What a great card for your son, in spite of the different spelling! You say "spelt" and we use "spelled" so it's rather amusing how different words are on either side of the pond. Regardless, the message is there and will be welcomed with delight I'm sure! Love the cute roly poly Santa and how you used that great plaid dsp on the bottom portion! Fun card!
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, a wonderful card for your son, I agree with the spelling of words, I have considered masking favorites and adding the 'u' off the end of 'you' to correct it for down under. Have a wonderful week... Megan
ReplyDeleteI love that curvy edge going onto the fashionable plaid(or in our language, checked) paper. I think this is a great design and I hope you don't mind I've pinned it for inspiration. On the language topic, Happy Holidays doesn't always go down well in England - but all these mis-spelt words can be used for cards going to crafty friends abroad.

ReplyDeleteThat Santa is so cute and I love the sentiment and card design. It's absolutely perfect. Not too much, not too little. It would be nice if we all spelled words the same. It will get your point across, though. Thanks for sharing this cutie in our Santa challenge at Double D!
