Pink Magnolia

I have fond memories of Magnolia flowers, my grandad used to tend to two enormous ones in his front garden.  Sadly it was a Council house and despite requests from the neighbours to keep them, the new tenants butchered them... seems not everyone is blessed with green fingers!

I think I'm desperate for Spring now (not long, March 20th) so I grabbed Altenews Dotted Blooms with matching die and made todays card...

As always I've used my Prisma pencils to add colour. The one in my garden is a very deep plum and my grandads were white with a tinge of pink and that was the starting point.  My colouring takes me sooo long its ridiculous so I made this card in two parts, colouring the flowers one day and assembling the card another.

For the card I used a Tim Holtz brick stencil dry embossed part way through the Big Shot and arranged the two flowers stems on the edge of the embossing.

The sentiment is from a new MFT set with matching die and stamped several times in pink to get the right depth of colour.  The 'Happy Birthday to' has been heat embossed in white onto grey cardstock adhered using 3D foam pads across the bottom of the stem and if I give this to someone it'll be a minor miracle!
