Mice Time

Funny isn't it, I have no problem making a card featuring a little mouse but when the cat brings in a live one... I totally freak and get up high to avoid the fur ball and let me tell you something, they can move faster than a middle aged woman can ;)

This happy little fella is by Stacey Yacula for MFT and I've used the colours from their latest challenge to colour him.

The 'Happy' has been layered and coloured with DOX hickory smoke then covered with sparkle embossing powder, in hindsight I wish I'd left the sparkle off but hey ho we live and learn.

The background has been done with DOX spun sugar through an MFT stencil and ta dah! which is what I suspect this little mouse is saying.

  1. Fab card Claire, I love the cute mouse and the background is perfect. I am not a great fan of mice either, unless they are in rubber or digi form!! xx

  2. Sweet card Claire, love the stencilled background for this cute little guy. I too much prefer stamped mice to the live critters! Cathy x

  3. I'm the same with cute mice! I love to collect miniatures and put them on cards, but that's as far as my mouse loving goes! LOL Super cute birthday card with that sparkly sentiment and wonderful stenciled background! I love how festive it all looks ;)

  4. What a lovely card Claire. Such a fun image too, so pretty. And I actually love mice - one year we overwintered a little field mouse that had snuck into our garage and we didn't have the heart to pop him out in the snow. We caught him in a humane trap using a piece of fudge (therefore he became known as Fudge). He used to wake up to play in his wheel in his cage and was such a pretty little thing. In Spring we drove him miles away (so he couldn't find his way back to us) and released him in some lovely woodland - along with some food and bedding to start him off in his new home! I wept buckets as we walked away - he stared for a while and then suddenly scampered off into the grass to begin what we hope was a new life. Aw, that's got me welling up just thinking about him!
