Feathers

Two cards today and these are for a new challenge from Darnell of djkardkreations called Twofer Card Challenge.  The idea is to use the same stamp/die on two cards for two separate occasions and for the first challenge the prompt is - feathers.

I've been thinking graduation recently as my son and his girlfriend both graduate this Summer and I thought feathers might be appropriate as they've both flown the home nest and have learnt to fly on their own.  All I did was die cut the feathers, sentiment and added a strip of black cardstock.  Included some paint splatters, added a gold seal with the word 'Love' and coloured a few gems black and done.

My second card took a little more thought, I was initially stumped until I looked at the pile of feathers that I'd been shuffling on the table while preoccupied with something on tv - then it struck me... make a pinwheel of feathers, watercoloured.  Die cut the 'thanks' three times and arranged the feathers, not quite central and it had to be on an 8x8 card as it looked too cluttered on anything smaller, there we have it - two cards done in one day, a first for me!

Supplies: Unbranded feather die and sentiments, 7 Gypsies seal kit, Zig watercolour pens, Inktense pencils and Hobby Craft pearl/clear gems.

  6. Both super cards and a great ideas on how to use the feather die. My initial thought was not to play as I didn't think I had a feather but then when clearing out my craft room I found a feather stamp so best get my thinking cap on. Hugs Mrs A.

  14. I love that this was a first for you making two cards in one day, Claire, especially two cards using the same feather die and I love them both! Your line of thinking about the feathers representing the kids leaving the nest is so appropriate...and your great QACAS design is perfect for either gender! Next, your pinwheel of rainbow feathers is remarkable! It must be extraordinary in real life!! Thank you so much for the shoutout and for playing in my new Twofer Challenge!! Hugs, Darnell
